Title: Hell's Kitchen Description: Hell's Kitchen, the most notorious center of crime and skullduggery in the city, located on the north side of Thirty-ninth Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues, a name that was later given to the entire district; at the time of this illustration, the property was owned by Thomas and Catherine Wilson, both of whom were master criminals and were both sent to Sing Sing Prison.
