Title: Babe Ruth

Description: Babe Ruth (George Herman Ruth Jr.; February 6, 1895-August 16, 1948) on what he called his "biggest day," shaking hands with Lou Gehrig (Henry Louis Gehrig, June 19, 1903-June 2, 1941), both New York Yankees baseball stars, after hitting a home run in the fifth inning of a World Series game against home team Chicago Cubs, October 1, 1932; Ruth took two strikes, then pointed to the bleachers to tell the crowd and Cub players where the next pitch would land; the ball he hit landed exactly where he had pointed, in temporary bleachers outside Wrigley Field's outer wall; the Cubs' pitcher was Charlie Root (Charles Henry Root, 1899-1970); Ruth also was called "Babe," "The Bambino," and "The Sultan of Swat;" movies made of his life include The Babe Ruth Story (1948 U.S. film) and The Babe (1992 U.S. film) and U.S. television films in 1991 and 1998; Ruth also acted in Rawhide (1938 U.S. film), a western, and The Pride of the Yankees (1942 U.S. film) biopic of Lou Gehrig; Gehrig was called "The Iron Horse;"
