Description: Glenn Miller's Trombone on display at the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio; Glenn Miller (Alton Glenn Miller; March 1, 1904-December 15, 1944) was an American jazz musician, trombonist, big band leader, arranger and composer; one of the foremost leaders of swing music, Miller's distinctive music caused him and his band to be one of the best-selling recording artists from 1938 to 1942 with such stellar hits as American Patrol, Chattanooga Choo Choo, In the Mood, Little Brown Jug, Moonlight Serenade, Pennsylvania 6-5000, and Tuxedo Junction; he disappeared while flying to entertain troops during World War II, his body never found; Miller was profiled by James Stewart in the 1953 film The Glenn Miller Story;
